By the end of the RYA Competent Crew course you should be able to steer, handle sails, keep a lookout, row a dinghy and assist in all the day to day routines.

RYA Competent Crew Course
RYA Competent Crew Course is a seven-day course that provides an introduction to sailing and cruising. It covers the basics of sail handling, anchoring, ropework, navigation, safety, meteorology and more. The aim of the course is to equip students with sufficient knowledge and experience to safely take part in day sailing trips as crew on board a yacht. At the end of the course, applicants will receive a RYA Competent Crew Certificate. The certificate is recognised internationally and serves as a great starting point for any aspiring sailor.
