RYA Yachtmaster Training Scheme

This prestigious certification demonstrates your high level of competence, knowledge, and practical skills as a skipper. With this qualification, you can confidently navigate coastal and offshore waters, making you an asset to yacht charter companies, delivery services, and professional yacht crews. The RYA Yachtmaster Coastal and Offshore qualification opens doors to exciting career opportunities, enabling you to pursue roles as a skipper, instructor, or even participate in international yacht races.

Out of the two levels, Yachtmaster Coastal demonstrates a skipper's ability to undertake coastal passages while Yachtmaster Offshore their competence to undertake passages up to 150 miles offshore.

At Seven Seas School of Yachting, we offer an extended Yachtmaster Preparation Scheme for the Coastal and Offshore Levels, designed not only to equip aspiring sailors with the skills and knowledge necessary to achieve the prestigious RYA Yachtmaster certification, but also serve as a milestone in their maritime training.

Our comprehensive, rigorous preparation program goes beyond the standard RYA minimum requirements, providing students with an immersive and intensive training experience.

The distinguishing factors of our Preparation Scheme are:

1) An extended theoretical preparation of 65+ hours and additional training if required and

2) 2 practical sessions: one before the start of the theoretical preparation and one before the exam.

The Yachtmaster exams are conducted by an independent RYA examiner.
